Peppermint Hot Chocolate

This rich, creamy Peppermint Hot Chocolate is an ultimate treat for the holidays or a snow day.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups milk 
  • 1 cup heavy cream 
  • Pinch salt 
  • 1 tsp fresh peppermint extract (made from uptown fresh leaves) 
  • 1-1/2 cups of chocolate chips 


Direction:

  • Combine milk, cream and salt in a medium saucepan. Place it over medium heat. 
  • Heat up the milk, stir occasionally so that the milk doesn’t scorch. Bring it to a simmer till the bubbles appear along side the pan. 
  • Remove the pan from the heat and add the chopped chocolate. Whisk everything together until the chocolate has melted and has a creamy and smooth texture. 
  • Add 1 tsp of fresh peppermint extract and whisk and taste it. Add more mint if desired, to get the perfect flavour. 
  • Top it with some whipped cream.
